This poem represents how I as an adult feel going through life.
The Inner child in me

As an adult when life starts to get the slightest bit complex I stand strong:
As an adult when life starts to get the slightest bit emotional I put the wall up:
As an adult when life starts to get the slightest bit frustrating I run to safety:
As an adult when life starts to bring the slightest bit of joy I embrace and stand quiet:

As I stand strong the inner child is screaming. As I block the emotions the inner child is breaking the wall.As I run to safety the innerchild runs to confront frustration. As I stand quiet the inner child is dancing with joy.

I often wonder is it the inner child who confronts the adult in me:
I often wonder is it the inner child who leads the adult in me:
I often wonder is it the inner child who calms the adult in me:
I often wonder is it the inner child who brings joy to the adult in me:

For all this do I want the inner child to leave?
For all this will I feel safe without the inner child?
For all this will I lose my strength without the inner child?
For all this do I want to lose who I am?

For all of this is the inner child the adult in me?
