A mask is way to hide. A way to be what we need to be.
A MASK OF MANY COLORS
A mask of many colors
to hide myself away
To keep me safe from everything
transpired through the day
Change just like the chamelion
ready for life's mystery
A mask kept in my pocket
is my only key
When I'm feeling cornered
A mask of green and blue
Protects me from the painful feelings
given out by you
When I'm feeling lonely
A mask of black and gold
Gives me friendly company
that I can closely hold
When I'm hurting deep inside
A mask of pink and grey
Lifts me up and guides me
through another day
When I feel like crying
A mask as white as snow
Hides the tears in my eyes
so no one else will know
When I feel like dying
A mask of black and red
Wipes away the thoughts of death
from my weary head
A mask of many colors
to safely hide behind
Somewhere far beneath the masks
It's me that you will find
I'm not sure who I am in there
the masks are my only me
I hope someday to lose the masks
and finally be set free
