A sad love story told from two different perspectives
Alone in this house of glass
I reach for you
You and your gown of flowing green
You and your never ending love of life
You and your smile
I fail
This cold, lonely house of glass keeps out all that is warm
All that is kind
All that is good
All that is you
Alone, I search for a door
I search for a key
I search for you
Yet you, the key, are outside, unaware of my existence
This cold, cold glass freezes my heart
It breaks my resolve
I forget the light
I forget the love
I forget the warmth
I forget you

* * *

In those rolling fields of green I felt the cool breeze
The cold of sadness
The cold of despair
The cold of you
I turned form the cold, seeking shelter in the sunlight
The cold finds me still, seeking me out always
I ran from the cold
I ran from the pain
I ran from you
I knew not that the cold was a cry of agony
A cry for help
A cry from you
