Mortal Thoughts


Flamboyant, flowing, fluid,
Akin to mischievous stream,
Etched in my mind.

Prior to blink of an eye,
Or trace of breath,
Lashed away by time.

A festering belief
Loiters in solitude,
Gaze nailed on the horizon.

Waiting for inferno
A flash of truth in the future
Or grim opaqueness of a hazy mind?
