Personal Poem I wrote for someone I loved and lost to Cystic Fibrosis
I still do not understand
What happened that day,
Or why I remember it so sweetly.
It was years ago,
Before you left.
Do you still remember?

The warm sund shining in
From the window of your car.
It lit up your face,
Your smile was wide.
It was just the three of us.
Nothing special,
It was all to familiar.

We were driving slow,
Making the lady behind us angery.
You took forever to turn
So we could indulge in
Cold sweetness
That snow cones always bring,
On a warm summers day.
The sun was standing next to me.

I wish you would come back,
But those of us you left behind
Will just have to wait
Until weto must take our leave.
So untillthen I think
We have to make a small trip,
As soon as the sun warms up again.

*In loving memory of Tracy Stephens*
