Seeing a lost love a final time and coming to closure.
And 100 years from now we'll meet again
Introduced as strangers by a mutual friend
And you'll say hello
Softly as you did so long ago
And I'll just smile
Without a single word though all the while
I'm filling with emotions I cannot comprehend
How after all this it didn't matter in the end
But I will realize
As I gaze into your eyes
How much it matters to me

Nights of lonesome wonder are inside my mind
Filled with lost ideas that I now will find
Seeing you once again smile
Gently as you did though after a while
I'll know that I must go
Without a single word as I did so long ago
While hurting, aching, bleeding as I never had before
My bashed and broken body washing high upon the shore
Though I will understand
As I take you by the hand
That I have healed and grown

The party is dying, the crowd is getting thin
My head is getting heavy as the room spins
And you'll say goodnight
Your face caressed by moonlight
And I will let you go
Like it was before but now I know
It's sure to be that you will not be seen again
And now it's going to be as it has always been
And you will walk away
And I will start to say
Nothing, my mouth stays closed
forever
