Written soon after the American invasion of Afganistan...
ground flies beneath bare feet
OOPS - no more
and cloaked faces peak out
from veiled boxes
and we whisper
like its something new
like we didn't know all along

kamikaze - by death make gain
far away pictures seem
locked in our tele-boxes
seldom frighten of shock but
draw the eyes
and a bomb explodes in
Baghdad
and we triumph over ruin
and deaths fails to
scare us
anymore

go g.i.joe
g.i.jane
pick up your gun and your
nationalpride and comehometous
cause the death is too much
we're tired of the hurting
the hurting
it's hurting them
but it's hurting us and
you can't fight violence
with violence
cause
vengeanceonlybreedsmorevengeance
and we can't stand it
anymore

there is toomuchsufferinganddeath
in thisworld
