Oh little leaf falling dearly away...

Oh little leaf falling dearly away
Blessed your path as you go on your way
What battles you fight with your sword drawn high
Only to find on the ground you must lie
But fear not dear leaf for all is not lost
Up and about in the wind you'll be tossed
Shine brightly dear leaf and do not decay
With the wind as your guide you'll not go astray
You'll soar up above in the weathered sky
You'll hear friendly words from birds passing by
You'll tickle the clouds and they'll laugh with glee
A cherished friend to the sky you will be
Onward and upward you'll go with the wind
Dancing away spin after spin
Soon you will find as you go on your way
You are the star of this bright autumn day
But those that go up will eventually fall
And down will come baby cradle and all
But fear not dear leaf for all is not lost
For once on the ground, around you'll be tossed
Bright happy children with faces aglow
Young boys with their hats and girls, each with a bow
They'll pile you up with your little leaf friends
And jump on you as their lives have no ends
You'll be surrounded by truth, warmth and love
To those little children you are a peace dove
War-hawks do not make small children smile
But you, little leaf, go that long mile
You've managed to bring a smile to each face
And for that, little leaf, you deserve an embrace.
