Deep sea beast extracts his revenge. Haiku/tanka
Slimy Serpentine
Beast of open waters, deep
Cries into the night

Dream of lover, gone
Took by shield and spear and sword
Death now be his plight

Bless’d by demons wild
Hatred harbored in his heart
Serpent takes to flight

Sailors watch, agog
Lightning strikes from beastly eyes
Maw crushing with might

Fire, crash and thunder
Metal, flesh and bone all sink
Barely with a fight
Down far, far away from light
All to sate his vengeful plight
