I wrote this after surviving two cancers in six years.
Chilling Waters

Mother Cancers frigid waters
chill but entice.

Hodgkins lymphoma,
she tosses her toxic head.
Thyroid,
a dismissive shrug.

"It's warmer over here" she beckons,
  she swims gracefully towards the Deep End.
Lung, Liver, Bone, Pancreas.
  "lovely warm waters", she tempts.

My frozen feet begin to thaw
I step to wade in deeper.
