This is a sad love poem written when i was sitting at home and playing poker
I heard a delicate voice it sounded pure

I knew it was love just sure

I noticed her across the room

Getting ready to make her move

Hundreds of people with eyes on her

As she went all in with her pair of fours

Knocked out three of the best considered Pro's

I didn't pay attention

As I went all in with an ace and a ten

Next thing I know four hours have passed

I was at the final table

With this woman, I had to outlast

Hand by hand time goes by

I couldn't resist so I said "hi"

The beauty in her face looked so innocent and sweet

As every hand she had I had to beat

I tried and tried and tried again

But it looked like there was no end

So I go all in with pocket threes

Next thing I know I get beat with queens!

I start to walk away with shame

And she takes my hand and said great game!

10 years later I come home from a meeting

And there she is online competing

I tiptoe behind her and cover her eyes

And whispered Happy Anniversary here's your surprise

We walked to the table and I deal her a hand

She paused and looked at me with those eyes so grand

I go all in with a pair of threes

She calls and gets her pair of queens

I start to stand and walk away with tears

She takes my hand and whispers in my ear

I love you she said I love you too

And I knew that love was very true

Ten years later at the hospital by her side

Doctor says she won't make the night

I'm scared, and distressed

Hoping for the best

She looks at me with those beautiful sweet eyes

Happy Anniversary, here's your surprise

With help from the nurse she deals me a hand

She goes all in and I call with threes

She gets her queens and I break down in tears

I take her hand and say my prayers with cries

As she slowly lets go and closes her eyes

10 years later so beautiful and sweet

She comes home from school and tickles my feet

I wake up and knew exactly what to say

Because it is my daughters birthday

I hug her closely and say happy birthday here's your surprise

I take her to the table and deal her in

And started to notice a small but sweet grin

I go all in with a pair of threes

She calls me with her pair of queens

I started to walk away

Knowing what she was going to say

She takes my hand and gently whispers

I love you daddy and I love mommy

I pick her up and hold her close

I caress her hair and tickle her nose

I'll never forget that poker love

She will always be my morning dove
