This is about a man that passed away during war
What would it be like tomorrow,
Will their be happiness or will their be sorrow?
Sitting outside on my porch reading the paper,
And having a laugh with my favorite neighbor.
That would be a nice life, I would say,
Instead of fighting this war, not knowing the way.
Bombs exploding and bullets flying,
All of the children and soldiers dying.
It would be great if it was peace and quiet,
And not another war or even a riot.
I want to go home and be with my family,
And attend my Son's school assembly.
I want to go home, I don’t want to stay,
But its not my decision, and not the right day.
All of a sudden the sound I feared most
Came in an instant right past my nose
I turn around and see him fall
Right to the ground like a ball
I started to shoot and refused to give up
As I knew I was alone and it wouldn’t stop
Had to reload my gun and shoot even more
I really regret joining the marine core
It all finally stopped when I went down
I got hit in the back with that familiar sound
I closed my eyes and said goodbye,
Because I knew I was going to die.
I really wanted to lead a great life,
But instead I left behind my Son and my Wife
