A true story-Larry Linville's poem inspired me to post...

A motley old dog wandered into my camp
As I sat above Glennifer Lake
He just ambled in with a woof-and a grin
And we shared baked potato and steak

I don't know from whence came this stranger
A farm dog- a wandering stray
But my creed is to share with all comers
And so I didn't send him away

For who knows in what guise God will visit
He's created all things that do live
Yes, it ill begets man to be stingy
And we only shall get if we give

Now old motley dog has departed
I hope he's a home to go to
For the worst thing on earth's not belonging
See him home safely Lord-I beg you!
