Confusion, questioning, searching for reasons why am i here
In the stillness of the night I stand alone
The darkness surrounds me , leaving me isolated
Am I the only survivor?
As there is no one in sight
No sounds of cars, people or civilisation
I stand alone with only the moon and the stars for comfort

The demons of the night, they enter my thoughts
Confronting me with fear and excitement
But to what does this excitement revolve around?
I have no idea
I ask myself and the spirits of the night who am I?
Where am I going?
But for no reply
All that I know is that I know nothing
I know not of my soul, my life, my being
I don't even know if I'll survive
For what is survival?
To live until the next night, only to be interogated by myself
To live or even to die?

The silence of the night asks me
What is happening to the world I live in
Why am I, are we slaves to the power?
For the lust for power is only to overcome fear

The blackness of the night is being challenged by the sun
As it awakes and rises with its hordes of golden warriors
Casting away the dead of night
Kickstarting civilisation with the beginning of dawn
But is dawn really the beginning or is it the end?
I leave the ponderous night to rejoin the confinement of day
And prepare for another questioning of reality
Another stillness of the night
