I see your outter shield. Why won't you let me see?
I see your outter shield.
Why won't you let me see?
I see your dark blonde hair matted with sweat covering your face.
          Why are you hiding?
Then, I see your blood shot, terrified, hazel eyes.
          Why are you so pale?
I see many cuts.
          Why so many bruises?
I see intelligence and compassion.
Why is it so deep inside those hazel eyes?
I see the big, dark rings around your hidden hazel eyes.
          Why the insomnia?
I see an unbearable pain.
Why are you letting it take over?
I see your broken, hazel eyes close shut as a tear falls.
        Why are you growing weaker?

I reach out to lend a hand to this pour, broken self.
Then I notice I'm only reaching for the mirror.
