Sometimes I feel like no one really sees me.
Can you see me?
I mean truly, really, actually
See me

Not with your eyes…
Not with your expectations….
Not even with your hopes…

With your heart…

Can you see me?

Because I don’t think anyone truly does

If you could see me
If you truly understood who I am
What I stand for
What I’m about…

You couldn’t think the way you think
Treat me the way you do
Act the way you act

Look into my eyes
And see right through me…

Because you’re so hung up on your judgments
Your feelings
Your assumptions

That you’re blind to reality
Only accepting of your truth
Instead of the THE truth

That there’s this person right in front of you
Who feels things…
Wants things…
Does things…
Is things…

Completely separate from what you think you know
So much different than what you want to believe

Watching herself continuously unseen

Making me wonder if I’ll always be invisible….

If my real self is buried so far under
All the gossip, manipulation, conjecture, delusions and lies

That eventually…

I’ll cease to see myself
