One of my favorites that I wrote a few years back
Weeds

I looked upon my garden fair,
At lovely flowers growing there.
And to one side where I planted seed,
I saw a tiny little weed.

But in the hurry of the morn,
I didn't pull that weed I scorned.
But hurried onto other chores,
And with those completed, went indoors.

Just a day or two from then,
I viewed my garden once again.
But now that lovely little space,
Was full of weeds, just a disgrace.

I couldn't quite believe twas true,
That where one weed was, many grew.
And crowded out my blossoms bright,
It seems had happened over night.

But quickly now I pulled them out,
And prayed my flowers would grow stout.
I vowed I'd keep weeds from that spot,
And beautify that garden plot.

Then I remembered that within,
My life, I must be free from sin.
For as the weeds would choke the rose,
Sin left unchecked, speedily grows.

If a beautiful flowers I want to be,
In God's garden eternally.
Then I must let no sin live here,
But keep my life's soil clean and dear.
