Losing love and realizing you don't need it.
Once. A lifetime ago it seems.

I loved you. I had so many dreams.

My wooden heart, once alive, is now dead.

My soul fills with impending dread.

My senses dull, light fades away.

Without you I cannot live another day.

Darkness impedes upon me.

I can no longer think or see.

But look! A shimmer of light.

Coming forth to make things right.

Who was I to feel so glum?

I am not the only one.

Many others have felt this pain.

And suceeded in the game.

Of life and love and struggles throughout.

And so, I rid myself of all my doubt.

I do not need you to exist.

Your influence will not be missed.

I’m alone, and happy to be this way.

I now look forward to a future day.
