A MYSTERY TO ME

I wonder why some folks are blind and cannot see
the beauty in this world that's been given to me.
I wonder why some folks are wheelchair bound,
why some cannot hear the sweet music of sound.

Then there are others who take it all as their due,
never think about the miracles given me and you.
For those who wonder why, this I will freely admit
it's a mystery to me, just the pure wonder of it.

Why are some folks rich and some folks poor
with barely crumbs of the richness laid in store?
Why are some afflicted with illness, so much pain
that they would welcome release time and again?

Why are some folks taken in the prime of life
while others live on to old age and in strife?
Why do little babies who are free from all sin
lose the battle for life they've fought to win?

Why is there hatred when there could be love?
The answers will come from somewhere above.
It's not for us to question the how or why He
doesn't show us right now what His plan will be.

It takes faith in what our Savior sends our way,
we walk in light and He will show us, someday,
there are reasons for the suffering and earthly pain,
perhaps to teach us what we cannot now explain.

My questions unanswered and for now I see
that all things in this life remain a mystery.
