Rusted Time


Our first encounter, true love's kiss
Accidental, but not amiss.
Once, there were two of us, such bliss.
Until the miss, until the miss.

I did not see you were not glad.
‘Til this relationship went bad.

I sat alone here; broken, sad.
I felt so mad, I felt so mad.

Tried really hard, with all my might;
to hold on, not to lose your light.
Ours, can no longer be set right.
I lost the fight, I lost the fight.

On this bench, I waited solely
for you to come, come quick, find me!

But time had passed, left me empty.
Eternally… Eternally…




The Monotetra is a form that consist of four lines, each line ending mono-rhyme.
Each line has a syllable count of eight or four metric feet.
To give the form a more profound and distinct effect the last line is written
in two metric feet or four syllables then repeated.
