A young wolf who became lost and the faith he puts in his pack, trusting they'll find him.
In the darkness he waits
To pounce upon his prey
To devour it hungrily
And quietly slip away

In the darkness he waits
Awaiting their arrival
For family is key
For everyone's survival

In the darkness he waits
Hiding from the danger
Always warned from birth
Stay away from the ranger

In the darkness it waits
Not going to budge
He waits for his pack
Lest they hold a grudge

In the darkness he waits
As the forest falls around him
Swallowed by flame
Shall he never see them?

In the darkness he waits
He sees them over the rise
They're coming his way
This isn't his demise

In the darkness he waits
No longer hidden from view
As his mother rushes up
And says, "I love you."
