A poem about the choices we make by what we say and what we believe
This life I live by my own choice
as every day I use my voice.
My spoken words or silent state
decide what turns up on my plate.
Do argue with me if you must;
but in this truth you’ll come to trust.
If damned you say, then damned you’ll be
and on the other side you’ll see
how words have brought you to this state
it was not luck nor was it fate.

Life or death is in the choosing;
words decide winning or losing.
Whosoever says in his soul
“Belief in Jesus makes me whole,”
will know what power words contain
as they speak out in Jesus name.
It’s not for me to choose for you,
but I have faith these words are true.

My faith is in God’s heart of love -
He’s not just sitting up above -
God’s living in the words you say
if you will choose to speak His way.
Control your tongue and turn your ship;
into the peaceful waters slip.
Your future’s there at your decree.
Don’t just trust in what you can see.
