my birthday without my mom
43 birthdays is all we had
now its my 44 th birthday and i am so sad

silly cards and countless emails you sent to me
strange now i long for them now that none will ever be

kids think parents will always be here
afraid not as my eyes well with tear

mom i miss you and wish you were here
i hear a faint voice in my head saying
" HAPPY BIRTHDAY I LOVE YOU MY DEAR"
