A poem of a deep hurt by a loved one.
As the teardrop glistens in my shaded eyes
I hide my pain before you realize
Close my eyes and hold it in
Bury the pain deep within
Look at you and crack a smile
Crying inside all the while

The teardrop glistens ...

If you were to look you just might see
How much pain is hiding inside me
How much longer can I hold on
How much longer can I put this show on

You cut me deeper than a ten inch knife
And brought to me infinite strife

Take a  breath and pull in
Deep
    Deep
            Deep
Holding it long as it begins to

Seep

Slowly from between my lips
Breathing out slowly, my sanity to keep

I feel the teardrop begin to glisten
My pain screaming loud, forcing me to listen

I feel a trickle on my cheek
Wipe it away as I begin to seek

Seek a way to get away
Where I don't have to feel this way
No more pain, No more lies
No more teardrops to glisten my eyes.
