I still remember
I remember when she believed
in forever with me.
Her soft smile
was a barely stirring breeze
with the promise of tomorrow
on her breath.

Her soft smile
and dark eyes looked to me
for the love and trust
I couldn't return.

Was a barely stirring breeze
blowing my heart
and mind away from her,
and to another?

With the promise of tomorrow
a lie upon my lips
I held her tight
and planned my escape.
I remember when she believed.
