How will we finish?
When I was 21,
Life was young and grand.
Tassel turned, paper in hand
nothing to stop me.

When I was 31,
life was free and easy.
Could you be the man to give
my heart for safe keeping?

When I was 41,
life was predictable.
Plans made with dewy eyes
began to see cracks.


Looming in the distance, 51.
Are missteps leading us apart?
Or shall we find a new dance
filled with a different promise?
