loss of someone I loved.
The day I first met you was not too special,

flames of passion did not make me maniacal,

it was an encounter banal,

it was not perceived that the end would be fatal.

Days passed by and years,

life flowed on mixing laughter and tears,

addressing you changed from formality to "Dear",

love set our hearts ablaze with souls near.

Our hearts were imbued with the rain of love,

our souls were at peace with themselves like a dove,

no one ever surmised what would happen after,

the two became one later.

The place you went away,

the pain in my heart thwarting me to say,

was such that no letters would ever reach,

and a stark reality it would teach!

Prompt_The title should be "We were one".
