on dealing with loss
Sometimes you wonder why
And you ask why
But the room is silent
And no answers are given.
And so you are left to wonder
Sorting it out in your own mind
Making what sense you can
Out of misfortune
The circumstances.
You close your eyes and will the present away
You cast it out
But you are powerless
Helpless
What happened to your strength?
Did you ever have it?
Or was it all an act?
A facade
And now all you can hope for
Is something to hold on to
A reason to move forward
Without the one you are leaving behind.
You reach out
But no one grabs hold of your hand
Nothing but air
Transparent space that goes on forever.
Sometimes you wonder why
And you ask why
But the room is silent
And no answers are given.
