Time to move on and change one's address once your broken heart is healed.
Time to change my address
Get my heels to clicking,
Put new high-heeled slippers on my feet
Moving onto Happy Lane and off of Sad and Lonely Street.
Been traveling on this road for far too long
Leaving teardrops on the sidewalk, humming the same sad song.
Watching cars come and go,
Hoping yours would turn the corner any minute
Looking at what was your favorite chair, wishing you were in it.
Going to all the places where we used to go
Avoiding familiar faces, afraid my pain would show.
Yes, I was sad and downhearted
But, that was then and this is now
I've cried my river, built my bridge, gotten over it somehow.
I'm moving to a new place, there's nothing for me at the old address
Can't expect God to bless you while you wallow in your mess
So, if your heart's been broken, your smile's been upside down,
Come and move off this old sad street to the other side of town.
