An acrostic poem about who we are.Our deepest desires are often lost by our deepest fears.
About my mind are trinkets scattered, seeking all that once mattered.
Racing silently within empty silhouettes, squandered and shattered.
Are there to be lost forever in a world of shadows, fallen asunder?
Remembering a better time, when the silence was shattered with thunder.
Every breath, stolen from a time past, pleads for surrender to sleep.
Another memory, another moment where Angels did weep.
Now a sadness that cuts through to my core becomes my mask,
Dare I pray to find the strength, and finish this cruel task?
Undone the smiles cast unto a heart, now only dust warms it through.
Not to find a thought uncorrupted, shadows warp both false and true.
In this nightmare, will I ever see the light shine once more?
Questions bracing for the answers, erode my very core.
Unique conceptions of mournful phantoms, embraced in fears,
Enticing a dance of death, submerged in swollen tears.
Does the dark soul I possess, show through and find hold?
Encased in autumn's spiral, I brace for the cold.
Seeking shelter in lyrical embrace, alone I stand,
Is there a time when I again can take my own hand?
Gone are the memories, cast to shadow and despair,
No one can hear my heartbeat, do I even care?
