The Work Of the Missionary
The Missionary

Weary from sin's baggage,
I left it far behind.
I will not turn back lest I turn,
to a pillar of salt.
Losing my rewards for going back,
taking for granted the newness of spirit.

I will not look back,
only ahead.
Now carrying something new,
and it is ever expanding.

This new soul parcel,
is imposing in size,
yet it is weightless.
I distribute it,
with unbridled generousity,
like a child who hands out the holiday gifts,
he did not purchase.

But I know who purchased these gifts,
and who is the reason I carry them.
and give to where they  need be.
But it is no burden and it is weightless,
and knowing that as I do,
My bag continues to fill.

It is the power source of my journey.
I  take no credit for them,
I am just the messenger.
