I am not feeling well today,
I need you to understand.
My heart hurts in dark places
under constant reprimand.

Please look beyond my skin today,
and peer deep into my soul.
Please take away your microscope,
and allow me to be whole.

I need to be myself today,
to be distanced from the flame.
I need to take a break just once,
and stop this selfish game.

Just let me live my life today,
without an expectation.
And let me breathe fresh air for once,
released from suffocation.
