A Termite’s Tale
100 words, no repeats, using every letter of the alphabet at least once

Down in my basement, doing laundry, there appeared to be some coffee-colored tracks zigzagging along our fieldstone foundation. Upon examination, I realized those nasty brown trails were built by yellowish, xylophagous termites. Legions of pale, ant-like creatures went about their day, busily gnawing away at the very core comprising this family’s home. Ghastly, quivering stalactites made from chewed timber draped off ax-hewn beams, forming rounded points resembling a mummy’s bandaged fingers.

Vomiting seemed imminent. Jogging upstairs, an open kitchen waste bin provided comfort. Reverse peristalsis over, Terminix dialed, legs trembling uncontrollably, stupor overcame me and sleep ensued.
