Just thoughts
You touched me with a hot ember.
It sparked my sleeping creativity.
Now becoming a raging fire.
How long before it burns itself out?

I heard your soul cry out to me.
Did you find more to say
From beyond the grave?
Or were you searching for a soul like mine
Just to release your thoughts of the day?

Your book was there.
At first just a glance,
But it beckoned me on
Until finally, I gave in.
At first awestruck,
Now bordering on obsession.

I cast my sight upon
Your picture once again.
I see the emptiness
And sadness in your eyes.
What was behind them in life?

Why I'm I drawn to you my love?
Do you hold the answers
To the questions I seek?
Or are we two of a kind?
Kindred spirits who suffer
In ways nobody can understand.
Including ourselves.
