Garlic, How do I Love Thee? Let Me Count the Ways....
GARLIC

How do I love thee?
Let me count the ways:
The delicious nutty bite,
That comes back and stays.
Offensively wonderful,
Smoky stench-roasted.
Divine in most cheeses,
On breads soft and toasted.
Poked in meats infused,
With Your pungence divine.
Pressed into sauces,
With red or white wine.
Poached with a fish,
You steal the show.
Scrambled in eggs,
None better I know.
Whatever I prepare,
I love to incorporate,
Your lovely cloves,
That deeply permeate.
A sonnet not enough,
For taste you displayed.
Therefore you’ll now hang,
By my stove in a braid.

author's notes:
I have been a huge fan of garlic since I was a little kid. I put it in almost everything.
One time I accidentally added it to brownies. It wasn't too bad. But seriously,
there is nothing better than hot garlic bread, Dipping oil with herbs and garlic,
Leg of lamb roasted with garlic. No wonder the Israelites missed it so much
when they wandered the desert! I can't go one week without it, imagine 40 years!

Numbers 11:5-
"We remember the fish we used to eat for free in Egypt.
And we had all the cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions, and garlic we wanted.
