Solitaire

I still cry tears for you

in those solitary quiet moments

as memories swim to the surface.

I let them float.

For a brief period

I recall the way things used to be.

Feelings escape me in tender sobs

and I allow myself to lose control

—to feel relief—

only for a moment.
