I discovered one of my friends sons ,one summers day..
Summer laze.

Children no longer pick fruit

for mummies fruit pies.

They lie ‘monged’ out

on the floor.

Climbing the walls

feeling extremely high.

Sweeties for the uniform clad schoolchild.

Playing conkers and hide and seek.

Shuffling around in ‘Clarks’ shoes

growing out of their feet.

Now replaced with buying munchies

Laying about toking on king size rizla,

Trainers and T shirt complete.

Now a bit odd to admit

that the young ones are complete experts

when it comes to cannabis.

Lying on the grass, rolling , growing their own.

Still frightened of mummy

and of smoking a joint at home,

The red rims and the relaxing apelike movements

symbolising the caned generation.

Laid back, lost in another land,

escaping from this world

they don’t understand.
