Lesson #3! A--Assonance & Consonance~ Painful memories of a loved one who slipped away...
Time's Up

Tick, tock, tick, tock—goes the classic clock
Its pendulum swinging, winging
Time sublime—worth more than a dime
Alas! Once passed, no turning, returning

Tinkling, ticking pass so fast—one blast
I reckon, in seconds it’ll beckon me
To watch, try to catch, tripping over the slipping
Moment, intent to be spent with your scent

Clock goes tick, tock, tick, tock—still in shock
Here, there, everywhere I dare to stare are
Thoughts I ought to block and to keep locked—
We were free to live, love… before time’s crime
