Old age and wisdom could use some help
What is Youth
by Kirby J Hancock

What is youth if not a scrumptious appetizer
preceding six courses of insipid leftovers.

What is youth if not a series of errors
which serve as lessons for life’s perpetual quizzes.

What is youth if not a periscope to view above
a world submerged in hatred and greed.

At a random age, youth, we are told, is to be abandoned,
shoved to the rear of a dusty closet and left to rot.

I say, pack it up in a suitcase and carry it with you forever.
