I am the silence in the night
The quiet desperation
The shadows’ in the light
A slowly dying sensation

I am the harbinger of cowardness
The creature deep within
The wife to restlessness
My role from here on in

I am the hermit in the crevice
The fear that pulls back on moving feet
A hold I cannot bear release
The solitary wanderer on this crowded street
