I wrote this poem when I was like 10 years old!

You see me with this unwelcoming smile
Full of pity and self doubt
I know you're looking but not really seeing.
When I look in the mirror
I see a distorted image of who I am and who I want to be
But then I try and see what you want me to be.
When I finally realize what I am
I find I am simply nothing
But a pigment of your imagination
