Remember Me Not

Remember me not
For the person I tried to be
But for the person I was…
Forget me not
         When you need a friend.

Remember me not
By the things I said
But by the actions I showed…
Forget me not
         When you need a helping hand.

Remember me not
For the hurt and pain I caused
But for the joy and laughter I brought…
Forget me not
         When you need a friendly smile.

Remember me not
For the flaws I possessed
But for the gifts God granted me…
         Forget me not, my friend, forget me not.
