A poem about self-image.
Do not mistake this for regret
I am a slave to my decisions
When I say it is over
My mind is set
I am on a mission
Not to find another man
Nor try teach you a lesson
But to fix myself
It is the only part missing
This whole entire mess
The nerve we had
To call it love
Somehow I lost myself
If ever I even was
A person
Woman
What a sorry excuse I be
Walking with my head down
Hoping no one would see me
I could not even see myself
What exactly was I hiding?
Pretty scary
The reality
It is myself
I have been fighting
