Fourth creative writing assignment from high school I published on the old poetry.com site
To My Mother
by Tina Rae Thompson

I don't know how to say this.
I guess I should just try.
I know we've had our arguments,
I'm sorry I made you cry.
Despite our many struggles,
And so many years apart,
I had to let you know this
From the bottom of my heart.
Though we are not together
As much as we would like,
I think about you more
Than some would think alright.
You're a very special mom,
I had to let you know.
If a band of gypsies came,
No way I'd let you go!
