The scruffy coyote was starkly visible in the glare of the headlights as it streaked across the highway. When it turned to streak back, the thud of running into the car was loudly heard and deeply felt by the passengers.

Two worlds, previously oblivious of the other, collided in an instant with a jarring end result.
