The monkey performs at the circus, and makes everyone happy. But is he happy?
The lights are on, the crowds are screaming
The music plays, the drums are beating
The doors open wide, out the animals go
And out comes the little monkey

The monkey dances for the crowd
And everyone is screaming loud
And monkey starts to sing for you
What a cute little monkey

Ringmaster throws a banana bunch
For monkey to catch and munch
And feats and tricks will monkey do
Amazing little monkey

The children clap their hands in glee
Men and women stand up tall to see
The monkey dance with company
Talented little monkey

But when the crowd does leave the tent
And ringmaster's collected every cent
They pack up and travel far
And cage up little monkey

He's shackled to metal chain
Looks out his cage on the moving train
And sees the jungles off the plain
The teary little monkey

The day I dream that I will see
PETA will come to rescue me
But 'til the moment I am free,
I'm but a circus monkey.
