Teachers and parents can be dangerous to a young mind, becoming adversaries of education.
Limitless

Teachers, professors, educators and parents all can be dangerous to a young mind. People can try to belittle your ambitions, becoming adversaries of education. The great people in this world will make you feel like you can be more than a man, but stupendous. Ignorance runs rampant through this world that we live in, perplexing me. Some individuals complain about education costing so much money, what they fail to realize is that it cost just as much and maybe more to be ignorant. Consider what is at stake, the future of our children, how can you put a price on the future and well being of our youth? In the people, there should be much more outrage; disgust for the school systems and the teaching process that has been put in place. The goal of school is to educate our children, why do we fill their minds with useless knowledge that has no importance them. There is a time and a place for every subject, for this world is full of mysteries. I believe that we should instill the values of the world in the mind of the young. Teach them how this world works so that they can be prepared for the challenges and dangers that will be presented to them. We need to these children what the world is, so they can grasp the concepts of life, the restrictions and the mortality that is all too real. The grim reaper is around the corner singing your song that will take your soul to the next life. We need to give these children avenues to help figure out who they are, ways to express themselves. Take these children on a journey to find their identity, not just their name, but who the being behind it. This adventure of enlightenment will open up new questions and new realizations. Once able to realize that this world does not revolve around them, we can move on to showing the problems of everyday life and the world.

There is terrorism, there is starvation, and there is genocide that is all too real around every dark corner. An opposing mind might say that children cannot handle this truth, that they should be able to enjoy their youth in ignorance. In its place we feed their minds with nonsense, ideas like the existence of Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy. There are problems in the world, and the sooner that we can think of a way to end these problems why are we preventing the number of minds trying to find a solution? A child can solve a problem, they have a brain and can develop at a much faster rate than that of a full grown adult. Why do we choose to stunt their growth and prevent them from immersing themselves into a world that they can master? I want to give them a starting point, a realization that this has begun and can end at any moment, instilling the desire to live.

In this day and age there is a battle that is going on; it is a war that determines our way of thinking. The way of thinking we have chosen, how our thoughts are being processed in our mind. How do we analyze a situation, we walk into a scene and dissect the situation in a variety of ways. The two opposing forces are Sponge bob and the Socratic method; one is an ingenious way of thinking. In the Socratic method, you are constantly asking why and questioning the boundaries that we are restricted by. This world is full of strings and the rules to these strings can be bent. The other way of think is a fantasy, where you coast upon a dream. Cartoons and TV shows educate our children more than anything else on this earth. Movies hypnotize its audience, captivating them while bringing them to the world of Warner Brothers. A world created where a child holds with no responsibilities, no rules, and completely ignorant of any consequence that can result from their actions. These cartoons dumb down the minds of our children, and air across the nation even around the world. I want to ask you, what is the audience that the show was designed to entertain. The concepts and actions of most of these cartoons are more than graphic. These violent cartoons create a doubt of reality in their fragile minds. At an age where they are easily influenced like a fresh mold, we show these children wily the coyote trying to catch the roadrunner. The Coyote is constantly jumping off of cliffs and blowing up with dynamite, with no repercussion. There is no consequence to any action that these cartoons take. Sponge bob is more widely recognized than Aristotle, and I believe that something is seriously wrong with that concept.

We have to push the limits to grow as an individual and a society. We must think outside of the frame to gain a new perspective on the picture that we see. We must introduce new ideas, new concepts to the children so they can do the same thing and take it a step further. With our imagination we create concepts and ideas that propel us to new frontiers. At one-point humans believed that we were the center of the world. At one point we believe that the world was flat and we could just fall off the edge. By challenging popular beliefs we are able to push the envelope and introduce fresh new ideas to our psyche. With these new ideas and concepts we get to add gears to the inner clocks of our mind. With each second that passes we envision a new life, a new picture. This is a world that allows us to create and dream. What our educators should do is inspire our dreams and teach us how to be successful. There should be a better system in place to help us find the field that we can excel at. With this new system in place, the career paths that our children choose will be theirs to decide. We have the ability to make it so that working is fun. When you put a person in a position to excel, industries that are put in place get redefined and revolutionized.

Desensitize our children to drugs, violence, and pornography is a problem that we have morally. Morally, I believe that we need to desensitize our children to the horrors of this world as soon as possible. Mr. Markus Venturino shares how he felt with passion, “We are already the fattest and becoming the dumbest nation in the world. Introducing drugs, violence, and pornography at a young age does have its educational aspects. For instance drug education should start early. When I was in the 5th grade and learned about HIV for the first time, it scared the piss out of me. There are monsters and beasts that wear human skin and walk among us. I feel that the swifter that our children can realize and accept the truths of the world, the better. This creates a lane quicker for them to succeed in finding their own way. Instead of filling our youth’s heads with nonsense and ignorance, we should start with educating and elaborating. On the opposite side of the moral line that society has created you can see the effects of drugs, violence, and pornography. Logan Kelly says, “People who do drugs drop out, violence leads to gangs, and pornography has an age restriction because it can be inappropriate.” There is a difference between knowing and understanding, just as there is a difference between telling and educating. A mind that gets stretched and opened up to new ideas never retracts to gain its original form. We absolutely must give our children the tools and vision needed to succeed. Abraham Lincoln said it perfectly, “Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any other.”
