outlining the struggles of a secret relationship that the bestfriend doesn't approve of
Mistakes start collecting amongst your unscarred past,
Time flies by with him, but those moments seem to last.
These days feel shorter, the time in between long,
The happier you become, the more the lies feel wrong.
The walks of shame, the weights of regret,
It’s hard to give up the feelings you just met.
When the time comes to admit to your compassion,
Don’t forget that it was you who is responsible for your actions.
Eventually you knew you would have to quit your games,
From the start, secrecy had no right to claim these names.
No matter the consequences, you know you deserved it,
Forget the feelings you had, another friendship wasn’t worth it.
Although there is still pain, the worst has passed by,
Just ignore the hurt you feel when you see his face; you’ll be fine.
The friendship you had kept will have its ups and downs,
But in the end what will have counted are the smiles, not frowns.
Memories were made and the new ones to be forgotten,
But what matters is that I am now out of the mess I first got in.
