For the Rising Stars Shining Brighter Contest, a Trois-par-Huit.
Humming birds
sing songs in the orchards:
melodies that touch my broken heart.

Memories from the past appear and tear apart
my soul with painful feelings that never depart.

Flames of my long-lost love resurface;
that I cannot erase,
my old craze.

Form: Trois-par-Huit
The form for this week is a bit harder to write than previous ones, so I hope you are ready for a challenge! The poem is made up of eight lines, in three stanzas, the line configuration can be either 3/3/2 or 3/2/3- but for the sake of this contest we are going with the 3/2/3 method. The form has a rhyme scheme of A/A/B/B/B/C/C/C, and a syllabic count of 3/6/9/12/12/9/6/3. The last line summarizes the meaning of the poem ... Also, the piece should be centered!
