Poem about meeting my father
A stranger lurks, stalking my steps.
Into my life, carrying regrets.

Knocks at the door, greeted with a smile.
Said he has traveled many a mile.

You know my name and resemble my brother.
You say you used to date my Mother.

Showing me items from my past.
Where did you get these? I ask.

You say you were there the day I was born.
Wanting to stay, you say you were torn.

Afraid, of having life in your hands.
Complying with a babies wants and demands.

You left your daughter only a kiss goodbye.
You didn't even have the decency to try.

You say you called but there is no way to know.
You say you cried, but I believe this is a show.

Why now do you seek what you intentionally lost.
Do you not know there are lines you have crossed.

I needed you once and forgot you at last.
A fatherless child, molded in your cast.

I know nothing of you, you were kept in the dark.
Yet you describe to me my birth mark.

My father, I see I have you eyes.
Reflecting from mirrors without lies.

You cannot give me the time already lost.
A priceless bond upon which you put a cost.

A chance to be the man you never were.
My Father you say, is a complete stranger.
